Hello 🙂 I grew up in potentially huge family in that my parents both came from large families; however, my mother's family is mostly abroad and my father's family, while here in Toronto, was not very close once the cousins got married and had families of their own.
I'm a people person and have always been a connector…without much to connect to/with. I was married and had 10 nieces/nephews and I enjoyed that and the feeling of being someone's auntie. I felt connected an knew my place in the world. Once the marriage ended, so did those relations. It's been tough being single in my 40s without kids of my own and most friends/women I my age are very busy raising their own kids and living very full, overwhelmingly busy lives.
I do have a mother and brother but there are issues there with my mother and my brother and I, while we love one another, we are so very different. Holidays are very, very hard for me as I LOVE being with groups of people, the noise of chatter, laughter and people being around other people.
I love the outdoors, activities and sharing meals together. What I would do to feel a connection with good, positive people who like to be active, go for little adventures, a cottage getaway, etc.
I may be 48 but I'm a very young 48. Most people think me about 10 years younger, and I connect with people who are warm, open and appreciate things as I do, too. My dream is to connect with people who want to include me in their gatherings, outings and simply want me to be in their lives because they enjoy my company as I enjoy theirs.
I'm Italian with a penchant for things French. But at the end of the day it doesn't matter. What's important is a genuine connection.
