Hello there. I feel it necessary to start out with making it known I suffer from a mental illness, along with agoraphobia. I mention this because I not only feel people have a right to know about those whom they choose to interact with, but also what they may, or may not have. I guess I don't have to mention this, yet I won't lie, there is a lot of stigma out there towards those who suffer from a mental illness.
Come April of next year (2017) I'll be 42 years old. And well, I am here seeking either a genuine friendship, or possibly a new family. As I feel my family really doesn't understand, or don't want me around due to my mental illness. I have spent a “great deal” of time isolated and alone in this life. And find myself thinking to myself, there simply has to be more to life then this?
A little more about me: I had an extremely difficult childhood growing up. I know everyone has a story to tell in this life. Yet, you can say (as one of my mother's ex boyfriends sister once said) I truly survived the odds. You can say I never really had much of a loving mother or father. One a drug addict/ drunk, while the other was a workaholic, both extremely emotionally, physically, and mentally abusive.
Which is really why I am here. Hoping there are caring and genuine people out there who can not only see past my mental illness and see a person, but also would like to show their follow man that life isn't all full of Hard Knocks, or wishing you simply did not exist anymore.
Forgive me for over sharing with what was said above. I really hope I don't scare anyone off. I'm just a lonely guy seeking genuine human friendship, or again, a new lovely family?
