My family is quite a bit disjointed. There was never any real closeness: my father left when I was a baby, my mom worked two jobs so I didn't see her often. My oldest brother kept to himself in the basement and it was even rarer to see him. My only other sibling, also an older brother, and I fell out a few years ago, so there hasn't really been a lot of family in my life.
