I am a single mom of an amazing, sweet 14 year old teenage son, who is my ray of sunshine. I am an overall happy, friendly, very outgoing, caring, devoted, giving person. I enjoy all types of activities like concerts, comedy shows, dancing, shopping, spas, sporting events, amusement parks, traveling, going to the beach, yoga, movies, reading, and playing Texas Hold 'Em poker. An activity I would like to try, and think I might enjoy, is golf.
In terms of family, I have a grandmother I email with regularly who lives in Florida. She is a sweet and wonderful woman whom I love very much. I haven't seen her in years do to financial restraints and I hope that changes soon. Other than her and my son I have no other family members in my life. Like everyone else I, of course, had a family of origin, but due to a bunch of horrible events and more dysfunction than I can ever describe, we have all been estranged for many years now. My family of origin included a mother, father and brother, in my youth.
I am on this site because I desperately long for a family. It causes me pain on a regular basis but, as to be expected, it is worse over the holiday season. I am interested in finding a mom, a sister, (I have always wanted a sister) and friends. If there is a married couple who could be both mom and dad that would be wonderful, but I am not interested in a single man as a dad figure in my life.
I hope to have women in my life that could mentor me, teach me things, laugh with me and be there for me through thick and thin. I know it can take a while for a true family bond to be created but I would love to truly consider these women my family, with the possibility of maybe being able to call someone "mom" someday.
