I have a large biological family but I only have an emotional connection with two or so members. I am originally from Upstate NY (North of Syracuse) were I stayed until I graduated high school when I was 17. I relocated to Charlotte, NC on and off for ten years. I then relocated again to Phoenix, AZ – for the past 7 years.
Over the past ten plus years I have focused a lot on education. I have an AA in Liberal Arts Humanities and Social Psychology from Cayuga Community College, BA in Psychology from University of NC at Charlotte, MA in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University, and MS in Psychology from Walden University. I am working on the last phase of a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Walden – I am working on my dissertation and need to complete one more year long internship. I can not wait for this to be finished!
Besides the academic side of me, I have several hobbies. I love photography, love to try new things, go new places. I love to travel – and try to travel several times a year. I’m yet to really leave to US (when you live in Upstate NY, going to Canada does not count (:D). I’m a huge sports fan, I go to football games, baseball games, occasionally a basketball game, and over the past four years my significant other and I have been attending WWE wrestling events (long story). If you asked my friends to describe me, they would say I’m outgoing, love to smile and laugh, open minded, loves to debate controversial topics, and learn new things.
As for my family I have an awesome relationship with my father Gary and my niece Alysia. My brother Eddie was killed when I was 8 years old and that really impacted my mother’s side of the family. I have very limited interactions with my mother’s side, it’s chaos and unhealthy, and I have to maintain boundaries with them. On my father’s side, my grandmother – the one that showed me she loved me – died of cancer when I was 13. Other member’s of my family’s side are unhealthy and distant as well. Mostly because we are so different. I am open to telling you more of this story if you are interested.
